Description

The Project Manager position plans, manages, and executes IT projects and task orders. Individual will be responsible for providing project oversight and management of project teams.  Individual should be able to work under limited direction; capable of leading and managing large and highly complex IT projects.  Individual should have the ability to apply past experience to develop solutions to new tasks.  Individual should be capable of managing the cost and schedules for multiple projects or a large complex IT project.  Individual should be fully competent in the tools necessary (e.g., MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, EVM) to fully plan and execute a project.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop Project schedules and documentation to support CHS III.
  • Support Program Manager, Government and Contractor reviews at various milestones/stages in the project life-cycle including assess progress, risks, issues, and metrics to provide the Government with timely decision data.
  • Ensure logical and systematic conversion of project requirements into total solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and security for project initiation and execution throughout the life-cycle of the project.
  • Document and mitigate the risks associated with each project.
  • Prepare and coordinate any IT Configuration Control Board and IT Change Advisory Board requirements associated with projects
  • Prepare briefing slides and artifacts (project concepts, charters, project plans, schedules) as needed to prepare for the major milestones associated with each project
  • Develop a budget for each project that includes the manpower and materials necessary to successfully execute the project.
  • Track project schedules to ensure milestones are met on time or adjusted as required if external factors impact project schedules
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure they are prepared with the project Transitions to Operations (TOM)
  • Communication any issues that may hinder or impede the successful execution of the project schedule
  • Maintain a risk register for each project
  • Maintain a change log to track any changes associated with the project.

Monitor to ensure each project stays within budget and scope or take the necessary corrective actions to bring projects back to an acceptable variance

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Professional Certifications:

 

  • Bachelors and ten (10)) years or more of related experience
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified
  • Relevant Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification
  • Prior experience as a Program or Project Manager
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Ability to develop resource loaded project schedules
  • Proven people management skills.
  • Experience managing complex projects in a multivendor environment.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Proven track record in executing multiple concurrent projects.
