SAIC is searching for an experienced Field Engineer to join our team in Point Mugu, CA.

The Electronics Technician should have proven experience with electronics and commercial vans and will support the US Navy Jammer Technique Optimization Group relating to Electronic Support and Electronic Attack.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of radio frequency systems, experimental design circuitry, or specialized test equipment. Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, set-up, checkout and trouble-shooting functions in lab and field environments. Assist with data collection during radar and communications RF testing.

Track van and generator maintenance for 5+ vans and 3+ trailers; perform light maintenance such as safety checks, routine starting, topping off fluids, replacing lights, and cleaning; schedule heavy maintenance.  Troubleshoot van maintenance issues during field operations.

Maintain good credit history in order to conduct corporate purchasing of lab and van supplies; file credit card usage reports.

Assist with moving, storing, and inventory of 2000+ pieces of electronics equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, radios, attenuators, receivers, transmitters, antennas, cables, and power meters. 

Qualifications

Education and experience:

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Required skills:

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B, clean CDL license
  • Experience with Electronics and Communications maintenance
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to work independently or with direction

Desired skills:

  • CDL Class A
  • Military service
