Description

The Benefits Shared Services Team Manager leads a team of benefit specialists responsible for a variety of programs and associated administrative processes. Primary duties include disability, military leave and paid family leave management and pay,  FMLA compliance and tracking and administration of state required leave programs. Additional responsibilities includes tracking for the leave donation program, supporting the workers compensation process, processing Qualified Medical Child Support Orders and adoption assistance claims.  
 
This team serves in a front line capacity to assist and serve employees and managers as well as the HR business partner community with leave of absences policies and administration. They also serve as advisors for general questions including directing employees to appropriate third party providers.
 
Managerial duties includes team workflow, scheduling and performance management, policy development, feedback and interpretation, compliance, financial and budget projections, issues tracking and auditing functions. Manager is responsible for handling employee/manager escalations. Manager serves as the liaison to both the internal Corporate Benefits function and as well as third party partners for both disability and day to day benefits administration for escalations, process improvements, vendor performance and training.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and five (5) years or more experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 

Required Skills:

  • Experience/familiarity with programs in scope of responsibility 
  • Strong team management skills
  • Ability to manage and track multiple programs and associated activities simultaneously with a focus on continuing process improvement
  • Ability to deal with difficult customers and deescalate employee/manager concerns
  • Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders including managers, employees, HR community and third party vendors

Target salary range: $75,001 - $85,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
