JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC is looking for a Cloud Software Developer Engineer in Middletown, RI.  This position requires a senior software developer/engineer with 15 or more years of development experience to support new or existing development projects.  Tasks include but are not limited to system architecture, software design, software development, unit test, integration, and configuration management. Work consists of developing new software and/or upgrading existing software to meet customer and project requirements while using software engineering standards and tools. This may also involve unit testing, software/system integration and test interface testing, creating & maintaining software documentation, mentoring other developers, and assisting with customer site installation and training.

 

 

Qualifications

Interim Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Secret.

Requirements / Skills

  • 5+ years of Software Development experience
    • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technology field
    • Solid command of cloud development technologies
    • Familiar with Integrated Development Environments, open source libraries and tools such as Jenkins, Maven, JIRA, Git, Azure DevOps
    • Strong web application development using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JSON, REST API, Web Services
    • Experience with web application frameworks including AngularJS, Node.js, jQuery
  • Experience / familiarity with micro-services, Docker, containerization, and Kubernetes
    • Experience with development in SharePoint Online, Power Apps, and Power Automate
  • Strong problem-solving, application testing, and debugging capabilities especially if Navy-related
  • Effective written and verbal skills
  • Able to work and thrive in both individual and team-based development environments
  • Position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance with the US Government

Additional Skills of Interest (not required)

  • User Interface (UI) Development
  • Familiarity with common industry protocols (e.g., JMS, AMQP, SOAP, WSDL, etc.), APIs (e.g., Google Protocol Buffers), and frameworks (e.g., MVC)
  • Experience with OpenAPI
  • Involved with agile and/or traditional software development life cycle (SDLC) approaches
  • Knowledge and experience with practices and procedures for CMMI Software Development Level 3 or greater is a plus
  • Experience or familiarity with DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD, micro services, SQL
