SAIC is looking for a General Maintenance Technician in Crane, IN. This person will provide general maintenance support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (NSWC-CR) Facility Management Branch.  Position interacts with our government customers on a daily basis providing general maintenance solutions to repair NSWC-CR facilities physical portfolio encompassing over 300 facility assets totaling over 3 million square feet. 

General Tasking: 

• Provide general maintenance services for repair projects using practical skill and knowledge at the apprentice/journeyman level.
• Conduct general maintenance in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. 
• Tools required to properly, and safely execute the general maintenance work requirements shall be provided.
• Develop, submit, and track work permits for all work effort performed. 
• General maintenance work that alters or otherwise modifies existing facility or facility system configurations shall be thoroughly documented for eventual incorporation into facility floor plans, layouts, and system furniture drawings.

Qualifications

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

Must be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Security Clearance.  Active Secret Clearance preferred. Must be a US Citizen.
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent General Education Degree (GED) with 3 years’ experience in general maintenance.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Requires a comprehensive understanding of general maintenance in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, especially when facing project deadlines.
• Have the ability to understand and comprehend blueprints/specifications.
• Be proficient in using computer software to document work to include, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word.
• Have the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel within the customer organization and with external planning and execution agents.
• Have solid organizational skills including taking minimal direction and completing assignments to meet customer expectations.
