SAIC has an opening for a Principal SharePoint Engineer to work 100% remote from anywhere in the US. You will take administrative ownership of our on premise SharePoint 2016 Farms as well as participate in conversion of on-premises SharePoint content and data to M365 SharePoint online. You should have strong customer service and communication skills and the ability to learn new concepts quickly as well as organization and documentation skills.

Responsibilities:

• Managing updates & patches across the multiple SharePoint farms.
• Working with Developers to sustain and maintain custom deployed WebParts and code.
• Overseeing the licensing and deployments of 3^rd party controls to the farm.
• Monitoring overall SharePoint farm health and initiating efforts to resolve issues that reported, to ensure maximum farm uptime.
• Monitoring SharePoint logs and outlining mitigation paths when required.
• Writing modifications to, and working with existing tool sets that automate key functions of the SharePoint maintenance spectrum.
• Writing Change Requests to facilitate farm changes in accordance with corporate change policies.
• Recommending and implementing environment changes to ensure maximum farm efficiency and compliance with security and best practice requirements.
• Responsible for implementing farm refreshes from production to non-production environments.
• Providing availability to work with the rest of the SharePoint team to resolve critical failures or farm outages when they occur.
• Overseeing migrations from other SharePoint farms.
• Completing necessary certificates and training as required by the company.
• Working with database team on issues or changes related to SharePoint related databases.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• On-Premise familiarity of SharePoint APIs, specifically SharePoint 2016.
• Understanding of SharePoint best practices, to ensure compliance, and will be responsible for planning changes to ensure compliance.
• Fluid understanding and capability to manage and write PowerShell scripts within the On-Premise SharePoint environments.
• Base understanding or willingness to become fluent in ADO deployment pipelines.
• Emergency On Call rotation
• Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience; Experience in Lieu of degree will be accepted
• PLUS: Experience with MS GCC High
