JOB DESCRIPTION:  As part of the Enterprise Network Support Team, you will perform support and administrative functions for the day-to-day operation of an IT Network services environment.  When required, escalate operational or technical concerns to SME(s) for the given infrastructure service or end user program area. Provides on-call coverage for all network assets within the area of operational responsibility.


  • Work locally or remotely with technical resources to perform installation, deployment, configuration, customization, and integration of new and existing network equipment and technologies in large offices, field offices and datacenters or other large environments.
  • Execute and coordinate upgrades, patching, and operations of network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network applications and services. 
  • Perform all functional checks, troubleshooting, operational and administration tasks on managed all network and network security infrastructure supporting IOD hosted services or transport to customers and external providers.
  • Actively escalate all critical issues to federal staff in a timely manner, and coordinate problem identification and troubleshooting calls with all necessary parties.
  • Perform technical evaluation and analysis to troubleshoot infrastructure hardware, software, or end user services using appropriate diagnostic tools, log review, and administrative consoles to determine root cause and remediation of service delivery issues or degradation.



  • Bachelor's Degree and two years' related experience
  • Strong experience troubleshooting and resolving network issues with vendor solutions that include:  Cisco Systems (Nexus, MDS, Firepower, routers, Catalyst, ASR, ASA), Fortinet (FortiADC, FortiGate, FortiWifi), Juniper (routers, switches, appliance), Riverbed, NetScout and others.
  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise routing and switching protocols to include BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, TP, VPC and others. 
  • Understand how to create, read, and understand network design drawings and documentation.
  • Experience working in a structured environment that requires change control processes in accordance with organization policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on many concurrent priorities.
  • Works with user groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals.
  • Able to work with automated ticketing systems.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance


  • Valid Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) Routing & Switching, certification.
  • Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching
  • Cisco CCNP Security (Optional)
  • Enterprise Virtual Private Network (eVPN)
  • Gigamon
  • Cloud experience

Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
