SAIC is seeking an experienced and security-cleared Database Administrator Senior  to support the Air Force's Air Operations Center (AOC) Falconer Weapon System team to Responsibilities: Performs high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex database management systems workstations and servers on multiple operating systems. Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Coordinates, directs and performs complex database software installations and upgrades to operating systems and related database software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Continually monitors and tunes multiple database systems and databases to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures database data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate solutions of varying complexities. Ensures database recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of database backups and archive operations. Plans and implements the modernization of database implementations. Develops implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules. Conducts audits of databases to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Develops and implements new standards, policies and procedures. Incumbent in this job works closely with Systems Admins, database engineers, and software developers to help determine and develop the database software and databases that will be implemented. 

  • Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems.
  • Coordinate changes to computer databases.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard computer databases.
  • Provide configuration and administrative support for Jira Cloud, Confluence, and BitBucket.
  • Design, implement, and maintain custom workflows, screens, dashboards, fields, permission schemes, post functions, etc., across multiple Jira projects.
  • Build filters, custom dashboards, and reports as requested.
  • Coordinate and respond to support requests related to Atlassian products.
  • Install, configure, test, and manage add-ons, plug-ins, and extensions in Jira Cloud.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions within Atlassian products.
  • Implement DoD security policies and best practices.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT II Certification
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 6+ years of related experience DBA experience
  • 3+ years of Jira administration experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience with the demonstrated ability to effectively manage junior personnel.
  • Atlassian certified Jira Administrator preferred.
  • Experience administering and deploying open source and commercial off the shelf (COTS) server equipment

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Active US DoD Security Clearance granted within the last 5 years
  • Graduate-level degree in Engineering or a related technical or business field
  • Experience working in Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) and general understanding of CAOC processes and procedures in support of execution of the Air Tasking Order (ATO) and Airspace Control Order (ACO).
  • Experience and understanding of Air Force Air Operations Centers and related technologies

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
