Description
SAIC is seeking a NoSQL Database Administrator to support our United States Marshals program in Arlington, VA. The candidate will be responsible for the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of a Koverse database. They will work directly with the customers in a technical role to help ensure smooth adoption of the Koverse platform and develop cutting-edge solutions.
Training on the Koverse platform will be available for candidates qualifying for this position.
- Directly assist with installation and setup of the Koverse platform
- Participate in deployment and implementation planning with customers
- Monitor and tune the platform as required
- Produce customer documentation to support custom applications
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
- Extensive experience with NoSQL databases such as: Koverse, Accumulo, Hbase, Amazon DynamoDB, Couchbase, Redis, Apache Elasticache, etc.
- A deep understanding of indexing and search techniques
- Experience with distributed systems like Hadoop, HBase/Accumulo, Spark and Kafka
- Knowledge and experience with relational databases and database concepts
- Performance tuning in Big Data environments
- DBA Responsibilities like data modeling, design and implementation, software installation and configuration, database backup and recovery, database connectivity and security
- Hands on experience working on Linux platform
Desired Qualifications
- Extensive experience as an Oracle and/or MS SQL DBA.
- Experience with the SQL language.
