SAIC is seeking RF experienced Senior Systems Engineers to support a program with direct impact to our country’s national security. These positions are located in Fort Meade, MD. The positions require an active/current TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph and be willing and able to pass an additional polygraph as needed.
The selected candidate/s apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288:
Systems Engineers will independently analyze, and recommend alternatives for elements of project’s technical design; perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Areas associated with the ISO/IEC 15288, and develop and deliver work products in any of the ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas. Further, they perform analysis of technical alternatives for projects and make preliminary recommendations, assist in performing systems engineering activities in the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas, and perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Project and/or Technical Process Areas associated with any of the ISO/IEC 15288 processes.
Additionally, the SSEs will lead contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of the project engineering staff and technicians; brief stakeholders and present the status on all technical aspects of their project; serve as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more Process Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288; approve delivery of work products of all Process Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288; plan and develop engineering projects with unique or complex aspects that impact major capabilities of high priority to the enterprise; and independently resolve important engineering issues requiring the use of advanced technology.
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Opportunities exist for Systems Engineers in Levels 1- 6 as outlined below:
L1 - Bachelors and one (1) years or more experience; or four (4) years of Systems Engineering related experience
L2 - Bachelors and four (4) years or more experience; or eight (8) years of Systems Engineering related experience
L3 - Bachelors and six (6) years or more experience; or ten (10) years of Systems Engineering related experience
L4 - Bachelors and ten (10) years or more experience; or fourteen (14) years of Systems Engineering related experience
L5 - Bachelors and fifteen (15) years or more experience; or nineteen (19) years of Systems Engineering related experience
L6 - Bachelors and twenty (20) years or more experience; or twenty-four (24) years of Systems Engineering related experience
Additional experience required in the following areas:
