SAIC is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineering Architect with Model Based Systems Engineering expertise on the Horizon contract in El Segundo.  Horizon is a Space Program that provides direct and integrated support to the United States Space Forces (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) mission in pioneering, developing and delivering sustainable joint space warfighting capabilities to defend the nation and its allies and disrupt adversaries in the contested space domain.

Under the Special Programs Directorate, our team supports a dynamic portfolio across several mission areas including Counterspace, Space Domain Awareness, Enterprise Battle Management and Command and Control, Survivable Satellite Communications, Communication Networks and Digital Engineering.

 

 

Systems Engineering Architect will support these efforts to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee development contractor systems architecture development
  • Working across multiple systems and programs to identify capability needs that extend beyond the system of interest
  • Frequent interaction with government, SETA, FFRDC, and external stakeholders
  • Identifying and defining future system enabling and, or capability needs
  • Identifying key architecture and system level trades
  • Developing strategies in support of mission partner architectures
  • Assessing the performance of current and future architecture concepts
  • Providing technical and programmatic guidance to the architecture and system level requirements process
  • Developing architecture models that address compliance and, or customer needs
  • Quickly translate customer and, or user needs into necessary architecture views
  • Develop documents and briefings to communicate work status, brief government and industry as required

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 14 years of relevant experience or Master’s and 12 years of experience to include:
    • Leading model-based systems engineering (MBSE) efforts
    • Architecture modeling software and tools
    • Military space systems and architectures
    • Superior communication and teaming skills
    • Ability to manage and balance demanding and changing work priorities in response to rapidly evolving customer needs
  • Must have an active TS Clearance with in-scope SSBI/T5 investigation and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI for Special Programs.  Must be willing to consent to a Poly. US Citizenship required.

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degrees

 

  • Directly related experience within the space control mission area
  • Professional certifications (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, Object Management Group Model User, etc.)
