SAIC is looking for a Senior Environmental Analyst in Norfolk, VA

JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs environmental analysis, typically in assessing, analyzing, researching and ensuring environmental policy compliance with pertinent Federal, state and local environmental regulations, which may include CERCLA, CAA, and RCRA. May perform research and assessment of data; develop or prepare reports, surveys, descriptive charts, figures or matrices for compliance and specific application of these items. May involve preparation of information in support of environmental policy development or administration, including litigation support. May include permitting procedures for projects. Must have knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental regulations. 

  • Provide NEPA program management support to DoN home basing / homeporting or operational training actions.
  • Manage, review, analyze, and prepare DoN environmental planning and compliance documents (e.g., NEPA EIS, Environmental Assessments (EA), and Categorical Exclusions (CATEX)) for a variety of DoN home basing / homeporting or operational training actions.
  • Manage, review, and analyze supporting environmental compliance actions  (e.g., Endangered Species Act Biological Assessments (ESA BA), Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA) Consistency Determination (CD), Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSFCMA), Essential Fish Habitat Assessments (EFHA), Clean Water Act (CWA) sections 401 (water quality) and 404 (wetlands)
  • Perform other duties as designated in support of Fleet environmental planning efforts.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s and three (3) years related experience or Master’s and one (1) year of related experience;Years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, statutes, and DoN and DoD policies applicable to environmental planning and compliance efforts to support USN home basing / homeporting or operational training actions
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary team that include preparing and reviewing environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, field studies, and surveys to support regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work many projects autonomously with minimal staff support

Required Clearance:

  • Must have the ability to obtain an Interim Secret and maintain a Secret clearance
