SAIC is seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to identify, track, and control configuration changes to software and hardware components on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) integration project located in San Diego, CA. The Configuration Manager will interact with project Engineers, Technicians, and Leads to configuration control of project documentation and equipment.

Job duties may include:

  • Providing support to project teams in configuring and base-lining project items.
  • Preparing configuration documentations and maintain Configuration Management (CM) database.
  • Reviewing and recommending improvements to existing CM processes.
  • Maintaining data quality, integrity and security of CM database.
  • Scheduling audits on CM database and assist in implementing audit recommendations.
  • Developing security guidelines to avoid unauthorized damage or usage of project items.
  • Working with configuration teams in development and enhancement of CM tools.
  • Assisting in management, maintenance and automating of CM tools.
  • Maintaining proper version controls of software deliverables.
  • Overseeing the delivery of software applications in test and deployment environments.
  • Analyzing configuration issues and propose appropriate resolutions.
  • Leading the Configuration Change Board (CCB’s); ensures appropriate functional areas interested in the change/release sign off on the item(s).
  • Performing configuration identification (Form, fit, function or backwards compatibility),
  • Performing configuration control (Baseline into CM for ECO or ECR process; change management and CCB to release of item).
  • Performing configuration status accounting (visibility into documentation, status and configuration information concerning the product).
  • Performing Configuration audits.
  • Ensuring all Configuration Items (CIs) are identified and baselined.
  • Ensuring all items generated are under version control and are archived in the CM repository.
  • Ensuring configuration control over all software and hardware integration efforts
  • Working with project leads to ensure current and accurate security markings are identified on software, hardware, and documentation related to project artifacts.
  • Implementing CM policies and procedures.
  • Participating and providing Configuration/Data Management support at various meetings that may include Configuration Control Boards, Physical Configuration Audit, Software Engineering Review Boards, etc.
  • Developing and maintaining a CM Plan and Desktop guide.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of configuration management experience.

Required skills:

  • Experience maintaining a CM database.
  • Experience with configuration audits.
  • Experience participating in and/or leading CCBs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Required clearance:

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance.
