Description
SAIC has and opening for a Facilities Carpentry Support for the First Army Team located onsite at Fort Bliss, TX.
NOTE: This is a temporary position for estimated 120days - 160 days start immediately
Job Description:
- Responsible for working with wood to build and repair structures and other items.
- Sets-up and operates the full range of power woodworking tools. Install wooden structures such as frames, partitions, walls, flooring, joists and stud work.
- Installing/finishing fixtures, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
- Selecting lumber/material appropriate for use of need.
- Reading blueprints/designs and build in accordance with such design.
- Planning and coordinating all installations and refurbishments.
- Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints.
- Meet cost, productivity, and accuracy/timeliness targets.
- Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
- Comply with laws, regulations and safety requirements.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent and five (5) years or more experience.
Required Skills:
- Experience working with senior members of the Military and Civilian
- Carpentry experience.
- Experience supporting DOD logistics.
- Microsoft Suite experience.
Required:
- US citizenship required for military installation access.
