SAIC provides full service facility management support to a major organization in the Intelligence community. We conduct end-to-end project management and facility engineering functions for locations throughout the world. At the HQ-level we perform all manner of planning, programming and execution oversight for a portfolio in the hundreds of millions per year.
SAIC is currently seeking a mid-level Cost Estimator to support our intelligence community client. This person shall serve as the primary Cost Estimator in development of construction cost estimates with varying levels of expected accuracy throughout project planning, programming, design, and pre-construction activities for government clients to determine feasibility, alternative analysis, and budget decisions. Interested candidates should have a thorough understanding of construction means and methods and should be able to successfully develop construction cost estimates for diverse locations and construction types.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Independent cost estimate preparation
- Cost estimate reviews/validations
- Value engineering cost support
- Facility programming cost support
- Cost analysis, economic analysis; life cycle costs and contingency/risk analysis.
The selected candidate will work independently in support of or as part of a team and may review the work of other estimators as a lead. Shall have experience preparing estimates in multiple formats and software such as RS Means and the GSA Cost Estimating Handbook. Detailed cost estimates for commercial construction may range from $100K to $100M and programmatic estimates up to $300M. Projects may include security upgrades of federal facilities, maintenance and repair of current facilities and systems, construction for space build-out to complex structural/mechanical systems repairs, or new construction projects. Must be able to read, evaluate, and understand project scopes of work, specifications, design drawings, conduct research, document assumptions, and brief clients on findings.
