SAIC has an immediate need for an end-to-end system tester in Huntsville, AL.

The Software Tester will be working on a guided munition fire control application program of record for the Government. The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) requires this position to support development, research, and fielding efforts for an Android-based software application. This software application utilizes real-time targeting data from organic sensor systems to enable users to rapidly develop target solutions for use with weapon systems at the maneuver unit level.

Responsibilities:

• Execute technical and operational testing of software and hardware components.  These components incorporate government furnished equipment such as tactical radios, laser range finders, full motion video receivers, munition launchers and autonomous navigation modules.
• Create and execute detailed test procedures utilizing the Zephyr test tool, part of the Atlassian DevOps Tools Suite. 
• Create detailed test documentation to include defects, new features, test reports, and event reports 
• Interface with the software development team to design new features, communicate issues found, and resolve defects.
• Provide technical support and field support for users.
• Assist with kitting and quality checks that precede shipping production kits for unit fielding events.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and 0 years experience; 4 years experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Clearance Requirements: Must have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Required Skills:

• Must be able to produce well-formatted and effective documentation to convey test plans and results.
• Experience in developing test documentation such as bugs, issues, test reports and procedures.
• Basic operational knowledge and troubleshooting of Android based handheld devices.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
• Able to work independently and efficiently.
• Willingness to travel (10-25%).

Desired Skills:

• Experience and proficiency with Marine Corps fielded radios and setting up tactical communications networks.
• Experience with military maps/imagery and methods for obtaining geographic coordinates.Recent experience and proficiency with Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), dismounted fire support systems such as Strike Link or PFED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with Atlassian DevOps and Zephyr Test Management tools.
• Familiarity with personal computers, switches, routers, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing, network topologies, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Recent testing experience
