SAIC is seeking a Senior Site Activation Engineer for the Global Positioning System (GPS) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Team. The GPS SE&I Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, operations support, and subject matter expertise to the Space Systems Center as well as Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB).  The Team also provides systems engineering and analysis services to include system development, enterprise and system architecture, acquisition, testing, operations, and sustainment support for existing and new capabilities. Team members provide an enterprise perspective for identification and review of risks and risk mitigation plans and work to institutionalize systems engineering best practices across the GPS Enterprise.  Site Activation Engineer plans, integrates, and makes technical recommendations in the execution of GPS Operational Control Segment –Next (OCX) Site Activation activities to create a seamless transition from the current ground system to OCX.
 
Duties Include:
  • Performs systems engineering analyses, technical reviews, and assessments; coordinate analyses efforts, methods, and techniques; develop products and briefings; and perform technical engagement with, and briefings for and to, government customers, stakeholders, and developer 
  • Conducts enterprise level systems engineering and integration processes to manage facilities and site activation for operational transition and fielding of multi-segment complex systems 
  • Develops detailed transition to operations execution plan (build-outs, long-haul communication requests, Comprehensive Cost and Requirements, etc.)
  • Integrates planning for Schriever Garrison’s Civil Engineering & Communications and Prime Contractor deployment activities
  • Provides technical leadership on-site at Schriever AFB; manages the installation of OCX and systems which support OCX; identifies and acquires GFE items for SSFB installs
  • Technical Baseline Change Management Process: Monitors and evaluates Requested Changes for risk to OCX transition and provides technical evaluation to government customers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 7+ years relevant experience
  • Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience managing operational transitions and/or fielding of complex systems 
  • Knowledge of facility, communications, and network planning, design and installation
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Math, or Physics
  • Current DOD Top Secret/ SCI Eligible Clearance
  • GPS and/or USSF Operations & Maintenance experience
  • Experience supporting DOD Accreditation processes

 


Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
