SAIC is seeking and entry-level candidate for the role of Electronics Technician to participate with a small team of systems engineers, network engineers, and system administrators in a professional, service oriented environment supporting the CENTCOM Partner Network (CPN) for Qatar, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates (UAE).  Candidate will assist the team in mission essential system integration, upgrades, systems expansions and maintenance.  Each of these task progress through the typical stages of the systems engineering lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, and implementation.  The candidate will be directly involved in each of these phases.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Participate with the team to analyze customer requirements and conduct site surveys to capture appropriate network architecture and installation requirements;
  • Assist in designing Installation Design Plans (IDP) which include: floor plans, network topologies, rack elevations, data connections and power distribution.
  • Assist in each phase of the procurement efforts, including assessment of equipment configurations, analysis of systems sparing, development of a Bill of Materials (BoM), receiving, Pre installation Test and Check out (PITCO), packaging, and coordination of shipments with a freight forwarder;
  • May travel for up to three months to assist in on-site installations and upgrades. Installations include coordination with facilities management, populating equipment racks and running any required cabling, in accordance with the IDP. 
  • Participate in completing post installation reports, documentation and As-Built drawing packages;
  • Provide continual support to the on-site Operation and Maintenance (O&M) engineers.  O&M support tasks include, but are not limited to, managing asset inventory and service contracts, asset reports, failure reports, logistic support and Return Material Authorizations (RMA).

Qualifications

***This position REQUIRES U.S. citizenship and, at minimum, an active DoD secret-level clearance. All candidates without an active clearance will be immediately disqualified.*** 
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent and 3+ years of related experience.
  • 2+ years of porfessional experience in AutoCAD. 
  • Team mindset – no task is too great or too small
  • Proficient written and oral communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional applications
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility and willingness to accept a change in priorities as necessary
  • Ability to comprehend network architecture and wiring diagrams
The following skills are considered a plus:
  • Experience in AutoCAD. 
  • Rack integration and wiring
  • Network cable fabrication including twisted pair and fiber
  • Material handling and tracking
  • Certification in Microsoft applications
  • Network configuration
  • Middle eastern travel

 


Target salary range: $50,001 - $75,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
