Job Description


SAIC is looking for a  Technical Writer supporting the PDSS team in Millington, TN.

This is a fulltime position supporting software development projects for the Navy Personnel Command (NPC).  The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Your role with SAIC will keep you engaged in a diverse, fast-paced government environment while interacting with government stakeholders, team members and management in addition to managing the on-going support of critical applications for our customers.

Candidate responsibilities:


  • Candidate will use the BMC Remedy System to enter, track, and close Incidents and Change Requests related to members of the PDSS team.
  • Candidate must be familiar with all documents required to fulfill government mandates for all contract employees including, but not limited to, System Access Authorization Request (SAAR), Privileged Access Authorization (PAA), DD Form 1172-2 (Trusted Associate Sponsorship System), SECNAV 5512/1 DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY LOCAL POPULATION ID CARD/BASE ACCESS PASS REGISTRATION, and NAVPERSCOM 5510/1 Building Access/Modification Application.
  • Candidate shall be designated in writing as an Information Security Coordinator (ISC) and perform all duties associated with the position which includes providing NMCI assistance as required, using the Service Request Management module of Remedy to submit and track requests to the NMCI management team, submitting management reports as needed to SAIC and government leadership, and maintaining records of government required annual training for all employees and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for all developers. 





Required Edcation and Experience:

  • High School and five (5) years or more related experience.
  • 2+ years professional experience required
  • General experience in Problem Solving, Business Process Improvement, Time management, Organizational skills and Reporting skills
  • Self-motivated, professional, with demonstrated progressive experience
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Detailed-oriented
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary

Clearance Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Upon job acceptance,  candidate must be able to obtain Interim secret clearance prior to work start date.   Inability to obtain prior to hire date, and maintain a successful background check will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.


Desired Skills: 

  • Experience with BMC Remedy Action Request System.
  • Have a working knowledge of MS SharePoint, a web-based collaborative platform used as a document management and storage system.
  • Experience with the functions and processes of the NAVY and Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI).
