The Senior Vice President of Total Rewards (“SVP of TR”) will act as a core thought partner to the CHRO and the rest of the executive team, and will ensure the strategic direction and delivery of comprehensive enterprise-wide compensation, benefits, rewards, incentives, and recognition programs that are in alignment with SAIC’s overarching strategy.

This person will provide both strategic and operational leadership of the function and will bring thought leadership and an analytical, solutions oriented approach to compensation and benefits. Overall, the SVP of TR will be a business savvy individual who understands the dynamics. 

Offer hands-on management of the compensation and benefits function globally: planning, developing and implementing compensation policies, programs, and procedures while driving the integration of the function following M&A

Design and lead administration of global compensation, including broad-based, executive, sales and incentive compensation plans. Remain in lockstep with the finance team, business development and sales teams, and company stakeholders to ensure rewards are developed in a thoughtful and sensible way.  

Develop, prepare and present recommendations for senior management and the Compensation Committee of SAIC’s Board of Directors on key total rewards matters (e.g. compensation/benefits philosophy, public filings, governance, director/section 16 executive pay, etc.)

Create a compelling and innovative benefits package that meets the needs of SAIC employees while reinforcing the brand; have these benefit offerings meet the company’s different business models

Create and structure the meeting agenda for Compensation Committee meetings for the Board of Directors

Lead job evaluation, competitive assessment, program administration and compensation infrastructure

Anticipate, forecast, and proactively develop policies and programs that drive improved workforce performance across the business

Lead research of best practices, monitor global developments, evaluate emerging trends, stay apprised of technological advancements and conduct benchmark comparisons

Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in all matters relating to compensation and rewards. Collaborate with Human Resources Business Partners and the Finance Team to gain a deep understanding of organizational goals. Apply expert knowledge to design and develop innovative total

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring a demonstrated understanding of the strategic, operational, and financial components of business management, with a track record of designing rewards strategies that advance the overall commercial success of the organization. This individual will have an appreciation for discipline and process, but will also have the ability to demonstrate flexibility and innovation. Minimum of 10+ years of experience in executive compensation; must have previous experience with CD&A, SEC regulatory filings, proxy statements and briefing C - level executives.  

Overall, the SVP of TR should be a hands-on self-starter and possess the ability to act autonomously in strategizing, articulating and executing total rewards practices. This individual will display tremendous intellectual curiosity, analytical acumen, attention to detail, and will continually evolve the conversation to ensure SAIC is maintaining a competitive yet pragmatic approach to total rewards.

Prior experience as a Business Partner to a large (~$2B in revenue with at least 10,000 employees), complex business within a public company is ideal.

Analytical & Business Acumen: Exposure to working within a global IT services/Government Contracting business, or the intellectual horsepower to learn the “ins and outs” quickly; Ability to make data-driven decisions and will bring a keen understanding of financial metrics and how they impact total rewards initiatives

M&A Experience: Experience in leading the total rewards function through an acquisition and through the integration, ideally including experience with acquisitions of large scale and global complexity

Change Agent: Hands-on experience leading organizational change, e.g. digital transformation, scaling teams and capabilities, building or re-building the TR Function; Tech-forward, digital orientation

Relationship Building: A skilled relationship builder who leads by influence rather than authority and who is able to serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, peers and more junior employees

Board Exposure: Experience collaborating with, presenting recommendations to, and driving agendas for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors


Target salary range: More than $225,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
