SAIC is seeking a highly motivated software engineer to join our Air Force team in setting up a DevSecOps pipeline for our AF customer. While we are working multiple instantiations of cloud-based and on-premises design, this effort is focused on a highly automated infrastructure capable of supporting multiple networks of varying security configurations. Our team collaborates heavily with our customer in order to deliver the best path to transform our customer’s application needs into reality given their unique security requirements.

SAIC supports the AF SAP EITaaS Program via research and development efforts to solve technical and security challenges with zero trust and cloud technology. We are on the forefront of creative and thoughtful ways to enable application developers to provide tools that our customers can use to succeed in their mission areas.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Deploy a VMware-based virtualized integration and development environment based on defined requirements and best practices
• Prioritize automation based on vRealize Automation to enable rapid deployment of virtualized systems
• Work with a team to help develop a DevSecOps workflow allowing application developers to integrate, test, and promote specific applications into a production environment
• Develop best practices and guides to oncoming developers for MLS-aware application development
• Participate in configuration management processes for controlled changes to the development environment.
• Monitor and manage compute and store resources to maximize operations and plan for growth.
• Record and disseminate lessons learned from software development process
• Help generate documentation on processes and procedures supporting a Risk Management Framework Authorization to Operate.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; other work experience in lieu of degree requirements
• At least 3 years experience working with VMware platforms and products.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• Familiarity with vRealize Automation and vRealize Operations software.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification
• Performed or participated in installation of a VCF-based system from requirements generation to operational status.
• At least 2 years experience managing vRealize Automation and vRealize Operations software.
• Experience with IaC (infrastructure as code) and CaC (configuration as code), and toolsets including Terraform and Tanzu/Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban framework.
