JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC has an opportunity for a Mission Support Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to the Senior Technical Advisor (STA) at a government location.  He/she will:

  • Provide advice to STA with particular emphasis on mission operations and innovation
  • Assist STA develop and articulate strategic goals and requirements
  • Assist STA assess new capabilities for potential application to mission; provide input on technical merit, expected cost, and return on investment
  • Evaluate future systems/programs in terms of meeting operational needs and technical viability
  • Assess integration activities in the context of cross-systems dependencies (technical, resource, and schedule) and present unbiased findings, analysis, and recommendations to STA
  • Support government requests for systems engineering and integration studies; process analysis and design, process assessments, etc. with a focus on process and resource efficiencies.  Present analysis and recommendations for implementation.
  • Document applicable action items and ensure timely submission of required follow-up status

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors in a relevant field and nine (9) years or more relevant technical experience in the Intelligence Community; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

  • Strong systems engineering and project management skills
  • Self-starter, master at multi-tasking; proactively develops plans, acts, and drives tasks to closure
  • Thought leader; expert at solving complex, abstract customer requirements
  • Polished communicator, written and verbal
  • Generates consensus on topics with varied positions, promotes collaboration among all stakeholders  

Desired Skills/Education:

  • Familiar with systems development processes (e.g. AGILE, Spiral, Waterfall, etc.) and cloud technologies
  • Familiar with JIRA, Confluence
  • PMP, INCOSE, SAFe certifications

Clearance:  TS/SCI with poly required
