SAIC is currently seeking to hire an Operations Research Analyst (ORSA) to support the Capabilities Development and Integration (CDI) Cell Multi-Domain Advanced Air & Missile Defense Program located in Fort Bliss, Texas with 25% travel involved. 

Job Description:

The OSRA supports the CDI-Cell in the conducting of studies and analyses of major Army and Department of Defense Air and Missile Defense programs dealing with alternative military strategies, force designs, strategic force issues, logistics management, weapon systems, and their associated resource management implications. Determines optimal resource management and allocation strategies through analyses of force structure, manpower requirements, authorizations, personnel developments, materiel acquisition, and logistics programs. Determines measures of effectiveness, applies risk analysis, analyzes and interprets empirical data, and obtains objective data for studies, training, system comparisons, analytic models, and combat simulations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Construct models as symbolic representations of a process, system, operations, Manipulates these models via mathematical, statistical, computer or other techniques
  • Apply analytic techniques such as statistical analysis, modeling, forecasting and measurement to effect analyses (e.g. ANOVA, Multiple Regression), cost analysis, flow modeling, forecast modeling, linear programming, simulations and queuing theory, and business reengineering/IDEF modeling
  • Conduct data collection, organization and analysis
  • Determine sample sizes and sources of data appropriate for study
  • Apply analytical techniques in innovative ways
  • Determine measures of effectiveness

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 

Bachelors degree with six (6) plus years experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree. 

The ideal candidate will have completed courses in physics, operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics including calculus.

Required Clearance: 

Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required. 

Required Skills:

  • Experience using analytical methodologies such as mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, simulation, stochastic processes, linear programming, or other continuous process improvement methods to perform analysis
  • Experience performing assessments, analytical studies, and/or operational research studies for tests or experiments
  • Experience utilizing data collection, data reduction, data analysis, and/or reporting data for continuous monitoring of data.
  • Operations Analysis and M&S experience
  • Must be open to 25% travel
