JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Support SBS Surface Team with programmatic and acquisition requests;
• Coordinate with task leads to define scope, collect data;
• Support the development of FAA project WBS and program schedule;
• Support milestone and business plan goal development and reporting;
• Conduct schedule reviews and develop and update required reports to management;
• Support the development of JRC documents and briefings;

Apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. Viewed as an expert in the field. Participates with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives.

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops information, which extends knowledge in a given field. Information may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories, and products.

FREEDOM TO ACT: Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs. Plans RD programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives. Work is reviewed only to the effectiveness of results obtained, typically requiring a long-term perspective. Virtually self-supervisory. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations' effective achievement of objectives.

IMPACT: Designs research and develops highly advanced new applications resulting in new product/business opportunities for the company. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would have a long-term negative effect on organization's reputation and business posture.

LIASON: Serves as consultant to top management in long-range company planning concerning new or projected areas of technological research and advancements. Prime spokesperson on company's technical capabilities and future directions. Often instrumental in attracting and obtaining major new company business.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 20 years of related experience with a BA/BS in any discipline is required.  A Master’s degree in any field (e.g MS, MA, MBA) counts for three years additional experience, and a PhD counts for three years additional experience.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Project, Power Point, and Word.
• Extensive understanding of the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS).
• Familiarity with procurement processes.
• Prior acquisition and contract management experience with the FAA.
• Familiarity and responsibility in project and portfolio scheduling and reporting.
• Proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; as well as, the ability to identify and resolve issues.
