We are seeking a highly motivated Software/QA Tester to join our program to provide robust data management in the IC using industry best practices and support the customer’s mission through data discovery and sharing of new insights using existing and emerging technologies.   The Software/QA Tester will provide testing support to data ingestion, processing, and storage infrastructure and systems through data management, data ingest and conditioning, and data transport. This will include developing new systems to ingest data as well as operating and maintaining existing ones. This position further requires working with various mission stakeholders, communicating system features and concepts to other users and developers, and interacting with program management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating detailed comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases for software in collaboration with developers;
  • Defining and maintaining testing standards and procedures;
  • Designing, developing, and executing automated testing tools for rapid re-use in a variety of application environments;
  • Developing software quality assurance plans for functional, integration, accessibility, and performance testing across a variety of projects;
  • Developing and tracking quality assurance metrics, such as Sponsor problems, defect densities, mean time to failure, and open defect counts;
  • Ensuring requirements and specifications are testable, clear, and concise;
  • Escalating to Sponsor as necessary any project risks, issues, and bugs;
  • Identifying, recording, documenting thoroughly, and tracking project risks, issues, and bugs;
  • Monitoring incoming project schedule to plan testing across Sponsor projects;
  • Performing and monitoring debugging processes and subsequent results;
  • Performing thorough regression testing processes for new and existing products to meet Sponsor’s needs;
  • Planning, managing, and leading functional testing of all Sponsor applications;
  • Reviewing requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback;
  • Testing across back-end, service tier, and presentation layers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.  Not that years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated experience in following:
    • Automated and manual testing tools and methods;
    • DevSecOps pipeline projects;
    • Running automated tests for web front ends, web services, APIs and databases;
    • Accessibility and performance testing;
    • Relational databases such as Oracle and PL/SQL;
  • Analytic mindset, good problem solving skills, and attention to detail;
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and collaboration skills with technical and nontechnical partners;
  • Familiarity with various SDLC methodologies including Agile;
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud provider infrastructure.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with ETL processes;
  • Manipulating large datasets with open-source languages.
