Description

SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician V to support Navy, Air Force and Air National Guard customers with the Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) on military ranges throughout the country and world. The position will support the Tactical Air Range Integration Facility (TARIF) located on the NAWCWD China Lake facility near Ridgecrest California. 25% to 50% travel will be required to various training ranges throughout the world.

Qualifications

Education and experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic assemblies and components. Capable of performing independently.

Required skills:

  • Analyze and test component systems and software products hardware platform and determine their suitability to host new operating systems.
  • Analyze fielded hardware platforms and determine which platforms must be replaced.
  • Must be able to replace products that cannot accommodate the DoD mandated version of Windows and/or Redhat at labs and ranges.
  • Ability to inspect, install, integrate, and field software products and hardware platforms at ranges.
  • Ability to support site inspections and provide integration recommendations.
  • Ability to update range network drawings.
  • Ability to maintain and manage the troubleshooting hotline during standard business hours.
  • Ability to document, track, answer, and route customer phone calls as appropriate.
  • The ability to create software problem reports for all troubleshooting phone calls that exceed 3 working days of effort.
  • Ability to summarize the hotline calls received on a monthly basis and submit the data as part of the Monthly Status Report.

Required clearance:

  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
