Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Quality Inspector to support a DOD client in Hanahan, SC.

This is a day-shift role and the qualified Engineering Tech will work on a 4/10 Work Schedule Monday-Thursday on a schedule from 5:30AM – 4:00PM Eastern Standard Time.

As the Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for upholding our companies’ standards by ensuring our products meet quality expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Using a customer provided Technical Drawing/Data Package to perform all Material, First Article and Final Inspections.
  • Using various measuring tools such as a voltmeter, calipers, gauges, tape measure, etc. to ensure actual dimensions conform to drawing standards.
  • Clearly documenting the results of all inspections and reporting them to the Quality Manager.
  • Completing the Non-Conforming Products Process as necessary and documenting in iCenter.
  • Backfilling other project areas such as Logistics and Production in order to maintain schedule.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, OR formal electronics training from a Technical School or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications.
  • Fourteen (14) years of practical hands-on experience in a combination of electronics repair, installation, quality, maintenance, troubleshooting, metal fabrication and inspections of C5ISR systems, subsystems and equipment. Five (5) years as a Quality Inspector or relevant role. Two (2) years of experience as supervisor or in a lead position. Note: Experience may be concurrent.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be capable to independently interpret technical data, blue prints, engineering drawings and specifications and have a working knowledge of drawing symbols and tolerances, specifically on Metal Fabrication and Cable Assembly drawings.
  • Must be able to follow documented inspection processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of various testing methodologies to measure parts and overall dimensions.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control standards and a complete understanding of MIL-STD-1916.
  • Proactive, motivated self-starter who is looking forward to become engaged in multiple projects.
  • Focused individual with a heavy attention to detail with strong organization skills.
