SAIC’s Cloud/Systems Engineer will maintain a strong awareness of technical trends within information technology. The engineer will develop and maintain strong awareness on on-going IT projects and business unit requirements. The Cloud/Systems Engineer will develop end-to-end cost analysis for projects, ensuring that systems and software being developed comply within the enterprise technical architecture.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline. Note that years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Five (5) years or more of demonstrated experience in one or more of the following cloud or system engineering activities:
    • Working within a cloud environment, including AWS, Azure, or other cloud services
    • Utilizing Cisco OS, including iOS and NexusOS
    • Demonstrated experience with LAN and WAN designing and deployments, including backup systems and disaster recovery architectures (DR) and using network monitoring appliances
    • Providing recommendations in technical standards, security standards, and operational assurance.
    • Providing recommendations to architecture and design reviews.
    • Utilizing Storage Area Networks (SAN), including design, provisioning, capacity planning, and maintenance.
    • Designing, engineering, testing, and implementing of Hyper-V virtual machines from Windows 2008 to Windows 2012 R2 cluster Hyper-V environment
    • Evaluating hardware and software products against customer requirements for technical evaluation and potential procurement.
    • Building, configuring, and troubleshooting customized forensic workstations

  • Using Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016
  • Using System Center
  • Utilzing Storage systems, including Net App and HP
  • Using VMware ESX
  • Providing recommendations in technical standards, security standards, operational assurance, and architectural and design reviews
  • Interfacing with vendors and third party producers
  • Building, configuring, and troubleshooting customized forensic workstations
