SAIC is seeking a Software Build Manager to join our team on the S3I program in Huntsville, AL.

Project Info:

SAIC is supporting the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) in continuation of the Improved Data Modem (IDM) sustainment and development.  The IDM is a communication device for the Army rotorcraft digital fleet. It is an Airworthy hardware and software system.

The S3I is supporting software sustainment for fielded IDM systems and an update to transition to the Aviation Mission Common Server multi-core implementation of IDM Software Application (ISA). 

The Software Build Manager is responsible for the integrity of the software build and deploy processes and overall quality of code versioning and integration across development, test and production environments. Implement, improve and support DevOps tools for software configuration management, build, deploy, continuous integration, automated testing and release management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide assurance of code interoperability in multiple environments and configurations
• Administer and maintain version control software and code repository
• Play an active role in complex software design and code reviews
• Manage, maintain and improve automated code deployment practices
• Work closely with the development team to develop best practices and processes in the area of coding, code management, code quality, code architecture, and code branching strategies
• Maintain existing and future custom application code and configuration
• Train the developers on IBM Rational Team Concert and builds
• Support the development community with code merges, build and deployments
• Evaluate emerging build/deploy technologies and tools including cloud-based development
• Ensure software documentation (SDD, SVD, SUM) is sufficient to support airworthiness certification
• Analyze system, software, and hardware specifications and interface documents
• Assist in the architecture, design and modeling of the IDM software
• Provide leadership for interdisciplinary teams as required for design, documentation, implementation and test of incremental functional capabilities

Qualifications

Required Education/Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years related experience; 4 years' experience can be used in lieu of a degree.

Clearance Requirement:  Must possess an active secret clearance; US Citizenship is required

Required Skills:

• Complex programming applications
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
• Strong troubleshooting and leadership skills
• Embedded systems software development
• Software development using C/C++
• Full Software Development Lifecycle to include developing software component design, implementation, and unit test artifacts
• Unit Test and Code Coverage
• Subversion, GIT, JIRA and bit bucket
• Real Time Operating System (RTOS) experience, Green Hills Integrity 178B is highly desired
• Experience developing for distributed systems
• Network sockets experience including TCP, UDP and Multicast protocols
• Demonstrated experience developing software to implement ICDs
• Less than 10% Travel should be expected
• Ability to work under a deadline
• Strong desire to continually learn and improve
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong scripting skills using python and bash

Desired Skills:

• Familiar with Variable Message Format (VMF)
• Familiar with Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA), Mil-Std-1553
• Familiar with AFAPD and Mil-Std 188-220 communication protocols
• Experience integrating hardware/software with Army Rotary Wing Platforms
• Experience developing host interfaces for the Army's Combat Net Radio's
• Development experience using the Ada programming language
• Highly desired, previous knowledge of IDM system or software
• Experience with multicore SW projects
• Worst Case Execution Timing Analysis
