Description

SAIC is seeking a Spacecraft Systems Engineer with extensive experience and expertise in spacecraft vehicle, payload, and ground systems and associated systems engineering and analysis.  The work will be performed in a customer facility in Aurora, CO area.  TS/SCI clearance with poly is required.   The target salary is $135,000-$145,000.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Advise the government in executing spacecraft integration, test, launch, and on-orbit operations
  • Support launch and mission readiness activities for launch, spacecraft initialization, transition to mission and anomaly events  
  • Maintain close communications with the program acquisition office and customer engineering organizations providing recommendations on risk level of spacecraft activities
  • Assist the government oversee day to day execution of operations and processes to ensure proper attention to health, safety, and effective use of national resources

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) field or relevant field -- contract requirement
  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated success providing space vehicle, payload, and ground systems engineering
  • Analyze and advise on end-to-end space systems architecture changes
  • SIGINT systems engineering background in space and ground domains
  • Knowledge in customer mission technical capabilities and performance
  • Technical familiarity with SIGINT system payloads and subsystems
  • Expertise evaluating Concepts of Operations, Requirements, and Operating Instructions
  • Demonstrated expertise across full systems engineering lifecycle and project management
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Articulate verbal and written communicator, confident in presenting and explaining recommendations and analyses to all audience levels

Desired Qualifications:

  • Contracting Officer’s Technical Representatives or Contracting Officer experience
  • Developing Statement of Work, Evaluation Criteria for contract modifications and new contracts
  • Plan and evaluate budget recommendations for contract execution to include researching, drafting and supporting Unfunded Requirements
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and cloud technologies

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Target salary range: $135,001 - $145,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
