The Minuteman III weapon system was first fielded in 1962, and has been upgraded in various stages over the life of the program to maintain system capability. SAIC is responsible for the Force Development Evaluation (FDE) of the current Minuteman III, and provides technical support for the Air Force's replacement ICBM system. SAIC provides engineering support (Advisory & Assistance services) as part of a multi-command, multi-contractor team. SAIC is seeking an engineer with a extensive experience in aerospace/aeronautics rockets, specifically in flight testing/mission planning, to include flight instrumentation, telemetry, flight termination, and range operations. SAIC is hiring a Systems Engineer to join the mission support team at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) to support Range coordination and integration for the GBSD and MMIII programs. SAIC is looking for a capable engineer with Range operations experience and knowledge of Range assets and the support provided to the launch customer. Requires frequent interface with Air Force and contractor personnel at multiple levels both at the Range and with the customer at AFNWC. Responsibilities include mission planning, Range integration, launch operations coordination, and oversight of development processing and integration at VSFB. .
Roles and Responsibilities (including some or all of the following): · Perform mission planning and launch preparation deliverables · Support Launch operations (flight night) · Coordinate with Range operations and support AFGSC requirements · Review and verify PRD and OR Requirements and revisions · Develop go-no go launch deliverables · Support Range integration testing and future mission planning analysis · Integrate with post flight analysts and support telemetry processing · Support design changes, and delivery milestones as necessary · Prepare presentations, reports, and other contract deliverables related to mission planning · Present Range recommendations and assessment to customer
12 yrs experience in direct Program Management of contracted workloads.
· BS/MS Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience in the applicable domain. ·
14 yrs over all experice, (12 yrs with MS degree) of progressive experience in systems integration and analysis of military hardware and software systems/processes (or commercial equivalent).
10 yrs experience in system design, integration, and analytical efforts.S/MS Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience in the applicable domain. ·
· Experience in following: launch vehicle PCM telemetry systems, launch vehicle analysis, and/or navigation system instrumentation · Proficiency with MATLAB and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) · Must have demonstrated presentation skills and experience interfacing with customer · Position requires a proactive, self-starting, independent, flexible engineer with excellent interpersonal skills
