SAIC is seeking a Waterfront DDG 1000 Combat Systems Integrator to join our team supporting the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in San Diego, CA. Work will be conducted onboard ships in the program's waterfront offices and occasionally visit other waterfront locations in San Diego.

In this role you will help to develop solutions to complex technical problems that require Combat Systems or subject matter expertise. This position requires the monitoring of status reports and maintaining awareness with respect to activities relating to ship lifecycle program milestones and TSCE activation/modernization, as well as monitoring efforts between shipbuilders, PARMs, and the Program Office (PEO IWS 9.0) to ensure schedules and milestones are kept and met.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) 9.0 directorate, which is responsible for developing, integrating, sustaining, and modernizing the Zumwalt Combat System, including all Mission Systems (Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) Core and Electronic Module Enclosures) and Combat System elements.
  • Provide PEO IWS 9.0 waterfront expertise in San Diego, CA to support DDG 1000 TSCE/Integrated Combat System efforts, focusing on the installation, upgrade and maintenance of all warfare elements.
  • Coordinate meetings, monitor schedules and coordinate across all applicable IWS Participating Acquisition Resource Managers (PARMs) to support and monitor a DDG 1000 Ship Integration and Test program and transition from development to fleet maintenance and modernization as the three ships of this class transition to the active fleet.
  • Track delivery of Government Furnished Equipment and spare parts, coordinate efforts of various support activities, such as vendors, contractors and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Heuneme Division.
  • Interface with stakeholders and parties responsible for (or those that support) activities such as Program Manager Representatives (PMR), Engineering Configuration Control Board (ECCB) members, PEO Ships, Naval Surface Warfare Centers, NAVSEA 05, Combat System Port Engineers, SEA 21, PEO C4I, relevant PARMs who manage the various weapon and C4I systems being installed, and PEO IWS stakeholder directorates outside of PEO IWS 9.0.
  • Interface with ship’s force or afloat staffs to ensure fleet requirements are addressed throughout development and lifecycle sustainment.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years of related experience. Four (4) years of additional experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five years or more (5+) experience in Combat Systems maintenance at sea, during construction, or during ship availabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and provide responsive combat systems technical support in a dynamic and complex organization/team environment.

Required Security Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining a Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with PEO IWS organization, NAVSEA Field Activities and PARM relationships.
