JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC seeks a talented candidate for a part-time (.5 FTE) senior-level Architect to support a specialized Customer department that manages large-scale OCONUS infrastructure and facilities programs.  The successful candidate must:  

  • Operate under broad intent independent of direct oversight and be reliable, trustworthy, and committed to program and team success. 
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to forge and nurture close working relationships with both Action Officers and executive-level leaders across the Customer organization and from various USG stakeholder organizations. 
  • Adapt well to change and thrive in a small team atmosphere that requires trust, initiative, teamwork, grit, and creative problem-solving skills. 
  • Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Have excellent organizational and time management skills along with an ability to articulate intent, frame requirements, set priorities, develop practical methods, and align resources to meet program goals. 

 Additional job duties include, but are not limited to: 

  •  Working closely with the Customer program manager to plan, coordinate, oversee, and execute multiple large-scale OCONUS facilities-based programs. 
  • Providing deep Subject Matter Expertise on OCONUS building operations processes to include requirements management, property acquisition, construction, O&M, and eventual decommissioning. 
  • Translating broad Customer intent into multi-year facility strategies, annual roadmaps, action plans, program schedules, requirements, and resource allocation decisions; and tracking program execution across milestones and in preparation for decision points. 
  • Helping Customer navigate formal USG coordination, approval, and permitting processes. 
  • Working in concert with the Customer program manager and COTR to draft Statements of Work and Statements of Objectives and monitoring contract decisions, milestones, and deliverables. 
  • Authoring formal presentations and participating in executive-level meetings, discussions, and program briefings. 

 

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications:  

  • Current TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and at least ten years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive prior experience in Customer facilities management roles at Department level and higher. 
  • Prior experience working directly with other USG stakeholders on OCONUS facility programs. 
  • Intimate familiarity with Customer mission, host environment, constraints, and technical landscape. 
  • Adept at interpreting engineering drawings and other architectural design documents. 
  • Proven track record of delivering results in the Customer environment with an emphasis on prior experience in program planning, budgeting, management, and execution. 
  • Ability to travel OCONUS 30-60 days annually; travel is typically forecast several weeks in advance.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Customer’s formal messaging and coordination system.

Desired Qualifications: 

 

  • Prior project management experience at the Department, or higher, level.
  • Understanding of requirements management processes and models.
  • Familiarity with Customer security practices for overseas travel.
