SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the NAVAIR Aviation Logistics Environment LOG-IT project.  This project is focused on providing state of the art systems and support the fleet effectively and efficiently. This position will support multiple facets in systems engineering with working knowledge in project management. The candidate shall research, analyze, develop, assess, and implement LOG-IT SE solutions. These solutions shall facilitate planning and implementation activities in each stage of the systems’ acquisition lifecycle to increase the success and effectiveness of LOG-IT solutions.

Work will be performed on site in Patuxent River, MD.

This opportunity is contingent upon contract award, anticipated in Summer 2022.

Additionally, the candidate will perform and understand the following:

• Develop Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs) for LOG-IT solutions
• Perform requirements analysis, recommendations, and validation and verification (V&V) reviews for systems
• Develop courses of action (COAs) that meeting customer requirements to include processes and architecture constraints to existing and future applications
• Provide system design solutions including documenting a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
• Document technical, functional, and performance requirements against design constraints
• Identify, analyze, and provide recommendations for project risks
• Develop and modify SE documentation to include requirements documents, gap analysis results and alternatives, and SE inputs from technical interchange meetings (TIMS)
• Assist in the transition of incoming capabilities
• Conduct capabilities assessments using the most current architecture standards and guiding principles from Government and private industry

• Participate in resolving technical issues that arise during development and sustainment
• Apply working knowledge in developing and reviewing architectures
• Communicate and coordinate with software development team.

Qualifications

Job requirements:

• Top Secret Clearance
• Location is at a Government Facility Located in PAX River, MD
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in practice of Systems Engineering process and discipline
• 10+ years’ experience developing SEPs, COAs, and requirements analysis
• 10+ years’ experience developing and reviewing architectures
• Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle model in the development of software products
• Proficient in MS Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, and the ability to work on multiple web platforms.
• Good communications skills, both oral and written

Desired experience:

• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimum supervision
• Recent experience working on government funded programs
• Systems Engineering course or proven experience
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Security + certification and/or network technical certifications
• Knowledge in DoDAF and architecture development
• Working knowledge in software sustainment
• Working knowledge in Cyber Security
• Recent experience with Agile process
• Recent use of JIRA, Confluence, and/or similar collaboration tools.
• Current or prior NAVAIR experience.
