Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Nuclear Policy Analyst to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Nuclear Enterprise Directorate. This position would specifically support the Nuclear Strategy Division, a dynamic and growing organization within the Nuclear Enterprise.

We are looking for a person to:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on nuclear policy and nuclear strategy issues, for high level policy analysis and interpretation (Agency, Department, Congressional, and Presidential) and associated activities or special studies/taskings/efforts concerning the overall nuclear deterrent enterprise.

  • Prepare senior leaders for strategic engagements; attend forums/meetings as required and prepare briefing materials, papers, program plans, and other material.
  • Provide technical review of policy documents; assist in the development and execution of studies and assessments.
  • Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions.


Education & Expereince: 

  • Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience\
  • Experience with nuclear deterrence, national nuclear policy and doctrine
  • Experience with United States Strategic Command, Joint Staff, Air Staff, DOE/NNSA laboratories, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense processes and organization


  • Active Top Secret, able to obtain SCI
