SAIC is looking for someone experienced with application administration in enterprise job schedulers, such as Tidal Automation. This role will support and maintain the application, coordinate with the Server and Application Monitoring (SAM) team, adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley audit controls, and ensure Change Management processes and ITIL best practices are followed. This person will be familiar with the latest application updates and changes from the vendor, coordinating software patches/upgrades, product evaluations, testing, and implementation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure application up-time and daily schedule completion.
  • Perform maintenance activities such as log review, log backups, job/action/event/variable cleanup of retired or no longer used objects.
  • Review and maintain internal documentation regarding Tidal and ensure latest best practices are in place.
  • Review bugs/issues reported by end users and escalate to the vendor accordingly. 
  • Coordinate with various internal teams for software updates, patches, or upgrades.
  • Run SQL queries or Splunk reports to reflect application, job performance or any metric requested by management.
  • Perform migrations or job updates using the Tidal migration tool while ensuring requestors are following internal change management processes to remain in compliance with SOX audit controls.
  • Onboard new users using established onboarding policy.
  • Ability to review existing security policies, global event triggers and/or alert handling and make adjustments where needed.
  • Great understanding of job workflow and master to agent communications.
  • Process user requests for ad-hoc schedule adjustments.
  • Send email communications for scheduled outages for Tidal or impacting Tidal.
  • Update calendars on a yearly basis to reflect the company's fiscal year calendar.
  • Create and/or delete schedules; Understanding the repercussions of performing either action has. 

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree and six (6) years of experience in system administration or technical support role OR high school diploma and eight (8) years of experience
  • 5+ years of batch scheduling experience in an administrator role in a corporate environment
  • 2+ years of MSSQL experience; must be able to run SQL queries
  • Experience implementing/evaluating various adapters
  • Proficiency using common IT software, remote access utilities, and ticketing systems
  • Solid understanding of basic IT concepts
  • Strong communication and team skills

Target salary range: $50,001 - $75,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
