Description
This is a full-time position. Edit hardcopy and digital strategic products aimed at the internal DTRA workforce and external customers (including the public) to ensure team-written products have consistent voice, tone, and structure. Review products to ensure comprehension at a non-expert level. Coordinate rewrites and adjustments amongst primary authors. Develop executive summaries from final reports on strategic analysis and other products. Adhere to writing style guide and established terminology. Ensure correct grammar and spelling. Take direction from the government leadership wrt to editorial style, message content and messaging. Interact with experienced technical staff, management, and government clients. Perform administrative actions as directed, e.g., process classified material, comply with administrative requirements, etc. Current focus areas include strategic planning, security cooperation activities within the various Geographic Combatant Commands (GCCs), and countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). Work will be conducted on the government site at FT Belvoir, VA. Employee may be required to travel domestically and overseas, as directed by the client. Total time spent on travel not expected to exceed 10%.
Qualifications
Required Education: BA/BS degree in a related field and 6 years of related experience; Masters and 4 years of experience.
Security Clearance: SECRET clearance is required. All applicants must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
