"This role does allow telework options with 10% onsite if needed. Candidate needs to be local to San Diego, CA."

SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer for its NAVAIR Aviation Logistics Environment (ALE) Product Line Systems and Software Support Services for the V-22 Osprey. The role supports the sustainment of ALE product lines in the field and produces, implements, and delivers software to maintain and improve the Comprehensive Automated Maintenance Environment – Optimized (CAMEO), Readiness Integration Center (RIC) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) applications.

 

The candidate Software Engineer must possess strong problem solving skills and the ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly to meet the needs of our dynamic, fast-paced development cycles. Candidate must have web development experience using JavaScript frameworks like Angular, or React. Candidate must understand that the software engineering “process” is as important as the technology for building valuable software products of our customers. 

The Software Engineer duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze the needs of the customers, users, and other stakeholders
  • Design and develop technology solutions that are capable of addressing these needs
  • Analyze and design object-oriented and service-oriented software solutions
  • Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during development
  • Communicate and coordinating effectively with members of development team
  • Work within the Agile development environment, take ownership of assigned sprint work, support tasks, and program initiatives
  • Effectively engage with the team in daily standups, planning, and other team meetings
  • Identify and communicate potential risks to program and propose mitigating solutions
  • Utilize SecDevOps best practices when planning, developing, or deploying  solutions
  • Utilize DevOps best practices including continuous integration and deployment CI/CD

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related major and 2 + years’ experience with Software Engineer
  • four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • Web based applications using JAVA and JavaScript or equivalent languages
  • Experience with Micro services architectures, MVC design pattern, and Test Driven Development
  • Recent experience developing object-oriented and or service-oriented software
  • Experience working on a team with five or more developers
  • Experience with CI/CD design, implementation and execution
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment and delivering well-written software
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain Interim clearance once on board .

Desired Skills:

  • Experience workings with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience working in and improving the DevOps environment 
  • Experience with automated build tools like Gradle, Ant, or Maven and recent experience with source control tools like SourceTree, SVN, GIT, or Bitbucket
  • Experience with databases development using relational databases like PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB
  • Recent experience using VMWare
  • Recent experience using PKI or other encryption/decryption technologies.
  • Experience working on cloud infrastructure such as AWS
  • Experience using Eclipse IntelliJ Integrated Development Environments
  • Experience with Atlassian tools like JIRA and Confluence  
  • Experience working on government funded programs
