Description
Works in concert with team leaders and members engaged in the analysis and study of complex aviation technical and operational issues. Individually, or with team members, develops, analyzes, evaluates and advises on methods and techniques to improve performance of the air transportation system. Based on study findings, prepares draft detailed recommendations on methods, procedures to apply and alternative means to improve the air transportation system. Utilizes and applies knowledge of web information technology and associated tools such as adobe, sharepoint, etc. to provide an information format for Government and industry personnel and the general public.
The Contractor shall provide support for Established on RNP (EOR) studies. The contractor will identify preliminary
hazards, and then plan out and execute the necessary modeling, simulation and analysis work,
which will determine if the associated procedures can be executed safely for simultaneous
independent parallel approaches in the NAS.
This effort is in support of an initiative to increase the efficiency of arriving traffic into airports by reducing the current separation standards between aircraft based upon the tighter track containment regions associated with RNP capable aircraft, while ensuring there is no unacceptable increase in the risk associated with the modified operations. These research and development efforts are exploring the safety of modifying current minimum separation standards associated with the proposed EOR concept and may incorporate the use of other NextGen technologies and NAS infrastructure design changes.
This support shall include, but is not limited to, the following activities:
Required: Two or more scripting-based analysis toolkits, such as Mathematica, Matlab, Python, NumPy, SciPy, R, etc.
Researches and drafts technical and regulatory documents, and reviews documents for accuracy,
completeness, and compliance with appropriate requirements. Available to consult on technical,
legal, and regulatory aviation issues related to specific tasks. Knowledgeable in a variety of
aviation areas, including the regulatory process, conducting air carrier aircraft records reviews,
corporate aviation evaluations, and quality system evaluations. Responsibilities include
conducting Internet research and coordinating on issues with Government and industry
personnel. Utilizes and applies knowledge of web information technology and associated tools
such as adobe, sharepoint, etc. to provide an information format for Government and industry
personnel and the general public.
Qualifications
Required: Two or more scripting-based analysis toolkits, such as Mathematica, Matlab, Python, NumPy, SciPy, R, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of direct aviation experience concerning flight operations and, as appropriate, experience as a pilot with a commercial or airline transport pilot rating. Bachelor’s Degree may be waived with 15 years of experience developing, evaluating or managing aviation operational or training programs, or developing, implementing and managing governmental aviation safety regulatory and oversight programs, or a combination of both.
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
WORK LOCATION: ON-SITE: The services required for ON-SITE contractor personnel shall be performed at the government office locations identified below, or at approved alternate work sites.
