SAIC is looking for a Business Solutions Engineer for a 100% REMOTE role!

Join a high-performing Agile Software Development Support team using a variety of tools to keep critical Department of Defense Supply Chains operating at peak performance.  Our work typically focuses on the automation of specific Supply Chains, the support of Production environments, application enhancements and the general improvement of software quality through the application of Agile and DevSecOps best practices. We develop tools for the Supply Chain organization to use, and work with stakeholders to improve individual applications and connect them into a seamless toolkit to deliver value at every step of the Supply Chain. We execute our work using a combination of Kanban and Scrum with 3-week sprints, focusing on team consensus and sustainable pacing.  We work closely with the Help Desk and Business Analysts to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve unexpected data conditions, logic discrepancies and configuration issues.  Each member of our team has flexible working arrangements including remote work, flexible scheduling and uses collaboration tools such as Teams for chat and videoconferencing to work with the rest of the team.  We each have the opportunity to learn new things, bring the best of our experience and knowledge to the team, and make our voices heard as a respected member of a high performing team.

Working with the Production Support team for the Integrated Logisitics Toolkit (ILT), the Business Solutions Engineer will be responsible for participating in an Agile Development Team that supports the many components of the ILT.  Working primarily for internal customers in the Logistics and Supply Chain Business Unit, the Business Solutions Engineer will build code for unique workflows and contract requirements, as well as integrations between the Openbravo ERP systems and other ILT components.  They will also support other ILT components as necessary.

This role can be worked remote anywhere in the United States.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Design, develop, code, test, debug and document programs
  • Prepare program specifications and diagrams
  • Develop programs in languages, Tools and Databases such as Java, Java Script, SQL and Python
  • Understand business, technical, and program requirements
  • Assist in the creation and general system design and technical specifications for new/replacement systems, taking into consideration computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results
  • Apply coding and analytical skills in all phases of the system life cycle
  • Supply time estimates related to programming efforts
  • Develop application program logic from customer-defined specifications
  • Test, debug, support and maintain application programs for customers in a variety of business areas and environments
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience
  • Knowledge of and experienced in one or more programming languages (Java, Java Script, SQL)
  • Understanding of the SDLC, test methodologies, and QA processes
  • Knowledge of software design and implementation
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of relational database principles and/or experience in database design, ability to create simple and complex queries
  • Ability to explain complex technical terms and systems to others
  • Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement in process and standards for the entire team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly collaborative and able to give/receive critical feedback
  • Ability to learn new applications quickly
  • Solid ability to take ownership and initiative

 

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience with Openbravo ERP
  • Experience with Domino or Domino X-Pages
  • Experience with Azure cloud service offerings a plus
  • Experience working in an Agile Development Environment
  • Good working knowledge of project management concepts
  • Experience in a software support role (Level 3)
  • Experience with Supply Chain Business Processes (Procurement, Order Processing, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Warehouse Management)
  • Experience in DoD Contracting a Plus

 



Target salary range: $75,001 - $85,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
