JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC is seeking a systems engineer to fulfill a senior contractor role at a government facility in Chantilly, VA.  A member of the contract’s senior leadership team, this engineer is responsible and accountable to the government and Program Manager (PM)/Deputy PM for the successful task execution of contract requirements at this location.  The successful candidate will:

• Provide system engineering technical support to Director, Operations Engineering and Deputy in prioritizing and aligning tasks across contractor team
• Oversee, guide, prioritize technical tasks for 40+ expert Systems Engineering and Technical Advisors (SETA) assigned to this organization; promotes thought leadership across SETA team 
• Collaborate closely with other subject matter experts (SMEs) within organization to identify appropriate resources to support current and new tasks; facilitates cross-Directorate, cross-site collaboration and coordination
• Collaborate with other CELs on technical and program management topics
• Provide regular Element status updates Program Manager (PM)/Deputy PM
• Augment SMEs or provide surge support to government to ensure tasks, deliverables completed on time and quality meets government requirements
• Develop and present briefings and assessments for a variety of audiences, must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership
• Anticipate, identify, address task execution concerns; coordinate with government and PM/DPM, advocate for cross-element support at resource management panel as appropriate
• Proactively identify and communicate system engineering risks, issues, assumptions, mitigations, and dependencies
• Provide inputs to the contract quarterly program management review

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) discipline and fourteen (14) years or more experience in related technical field.  STEM degree is a contractual requirement.
• Master’s degree (STEM preferred) and 12 years or more experience

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of GEOINT and SIGINT overall space and ground architecture including mission control and/or mission processing functions
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience with National Reconnaissance Office (NRO)
• Minimum of five years of experience as a lead within programs/projects of similar size, scope
• Minimum five years’ experience supporting 24/7 operations
• Demonstrated success working in a high visibility/high-tempo position requiring self-motivation; strong technical and leadership background
• Relevant qualifications working with other IC organizations
• Professional and tactful under pressure; effective negotiation with diplomatic skills
• Self-starter, polished communicator (written/verbal)
• Familiar with Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering tools and practices
• Familiar with SAFe/AGILE
• Top Secret SCI with Poly Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiar with cloud technologies (AWS, C2S), DevSecOps
• Experience from commercial space systems providers, small satellites
• PMP, INCOSE, and/or SAFE certification(s) desired
