SAIC is seeking a senior cybersecurity test engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to join the Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) and Global Positioning System (GPS) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Cyber Test Team. The PNT/GPS SE&I Cyber Test Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, assessment, and subject matter expertise (SME) to Space Force customers. Members contribute a technical cybersecurity perspective for the identification and review of risks and risk mitigation plans and strive to institutionalize cybersecurity engineering best practices across the PNT/GPS Enterprise and beyond. As a member of the PNT/GPS SE&I Cyber Test Team, you will work in a fast-paced environment alongside Space Force personnel and system developers helping to ensure GPS remains the gold standard for position, navigation and timing.
Duties Include:
  • Lead and assist in the planning and execution of cyber security assessments utilizing DISA Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Nessus Vulnerability Scanner, DISA SCAP, and other tools 
  • Conduct penetration testing events on development and sustainment systems, identifying system vulnerabilities and conducting mitigation and risk analysis 
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and optimization of processes and procedures for conducting cybersecurity vulnerability and penetration assessments, to include automation, tool research, development, and training
  • Support various cross-mission cybersecurity activities as needed, to include space, ground, operations, logistics, and sustainment elements of the customer base by providing a technical view of risks, issues, and interdependencies between system elements.
  • Develop and brief cybersecurity-related packages and reports that provide analysis results to inform customer decision-makers
  • Collaborate on a regular basis with team, subcontractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Space Force

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Cybersecurity with 5+ years of demonstrated acquisition experience or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Cybersecurity with 3+ years’ experience
  • Possesses and maintains a DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
  • Possesses or ability to obtain within 3 months a penetration testing certification (CompTIA CEH or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of risk analysis and mitigation fundamentals, cybersecurity tool suites, and cybersecurity assessment methods and methodologies
  • Highly experienced in the creation and delivery of technical documents, briefings, and reports to peers, management, and the customer at all levels 
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong familiarity with DoDI 8510.01, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-115
  • Demonstrated experience working with Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition and development environment, with space and/or ground systems
    Strong Linux (RedHat) and Windows (10, Server 2012+) operations fundamentals.
  • In-Depth knowledge of cybersecurity tools, to include Nessus Vulnerability Scanner operation and configuration, DISA SCC/SCAP, Elastic (ELK) Stack, Fortify, and others as needed
  • Ability to identify and present risk countermeasure options / alternatives to peers and customers
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with Confluence and Jira collaboration and project tracking tools

Target salary range: $105,001 - $115,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
