SAIC has an opportunity for an Application Packaging Engineer to support the US Army Corps of Engineers Revolutionary IT Services (USACE RITS) program.

NOTE: This is a 100% virtual / work from home / remote position located anywhere in the CONUS.

The USACE RITS contract will provide mwalkodern and secure enterprise-wide IT support services to approximately 37,000 USACE customers located throughout the CONUS and OCONUS. Services will support the mission needs of USACE’s Headquarters (HQs) located in Washington, D.C., nine Divisions and 43 Districts, to include over 1,500 field and area project offices and two data centers that are currently located in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Hillsboro, Oregon.


Create and maintain install application packages for COTS, GOTS and open source products used on the Client's enterprise environments. Currently utilized application packaging technologies include, but are not limited to Flexera Admin Studio, Installshield and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

  • Complete packages in accordance customer service level requirements and is responsible for COTS and in-house type applications using Flexera Admin Studio following an established process and workflow. Packaging will consist of building silent installation packages in an MSI/MST format and performing initial installation testing on Windows 10 or other Window Server before handing off to the client for user acceptance testing and eventual deployment through SCCM
  • Create support documentation for the team and peer groups as needed to include SOPs, general technical bulletins, and troubleshooting workflows as needed.
  • Implement desktop technology solutions that ensure consistency and standardization across the enterprise.
  • Complete packages in a timely manner and responsible for COTS and in-house type applications using Admin Studio following an established process and workflow.
  • Strong experience utilizing scripting and/or programming languages such as C++ (Visual Studio), VBScript, and PowerShell to automate processes and manage system configuration.
  • Thorough understanding of Windows Installer technology and significant experience configuring applications for silent or unattended deployments.
  • Experience building and editing MSI/MSIX files for enterprise distribution utilizing Flexera Admin Studio and InstallshieldHi.
  • Create deployment packages, prepare testing scenarios, impart changes required by test team, and ensure all changes meet the customer’s needs.
  • Create support documentation for the team and peer groups as needed to include SOPs, general technical bulletins, and troubleshooting workflows as needed.
  • Flexera Admin Server maintenance; including software and documentation as needed to support the platform.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience.  Additional four (4) years experience in lieu of degree

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:  Must have a Interim Secret clearance

Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
