SAIC has an immediate opening for a new Cyber Engineer Principal!

SAIC is looking to hire a Principal Cyber Engineer with Security, Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) expertise. SAIC Security Solutions deliver advanced security in a trusted and efficient way that addresses our clients' most complex and mission-critical security challenges, providing the context and confidence needed to leverage the latest technology, embrace modern business realities and defend their enterprises. We combine experienced consulting, advanced products and efficient managed services to deliver dramatic improvement in security posture and operational efficiencies.  We are seeking candidates that meet these position capabilities:   

  • The Principal Cyber Engineer will support our Zero Trust Accelerator (ZTA) development as the SOAR expert.
  • This project will  focus on Zero Trust reference architecture, maturity model, automation and orchestration, including a demo environment, methods and processes for successful delivery, white papers, and briefings.  
  • Role Responsibilities Architects, plans, configures, deploys, maintains, and upgrades SOAR solutions to address vulnerabilities and/or implement security controls. Integrates the SOAR solution into the overall ZTA solution.  
  • Broad cybersecurity capabilities including: Applies a combination of expert engineering knowledge of enterprise IT and security solutions to design, develop and/or implement solutions to ensure they are consistent with enterprise architecture security policies  Designs, tests, and implements secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, tuning and management of IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions.  
  • Includes security control design and solution planning at the system, mission, and enterprise level, security-in-depth/defense-in-depth, and other related IAM/ISSO/ISSE support functions.  
  • Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. 
  • Researches and evaluates cyber capabilities and new security tools  and products against operational requirements and introduces them to the enterprise in alignment with IT security strategy, and to support the offensive and defensive capability design and troubleshoot and problem solve technical and non-technical issues. 
  • Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. 
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. 

 

This position is remote and can be worked anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • At least 2 years of SOAR experience preferably with Splunk's SOAR (previously Phantom)
  • Knowledgeable in security procedures, best practices, and implementation Highly knowledgeable on security tools 
  • Security certification(s) e.g. CISSP, Security+, CCNP, CCNA, Network+, MCSA  
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • SOAR experience with cloud and hybrid environments
  • Knowledgeable of Managed Services solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot technology integrations
  • Excellent documentation and technical writing skills

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
