SAIC’s Innovation Factory Teams has an opening for Sales Engineers to enhance and drive sales of SAIC’s differentiated offerings in Digital, Artificial Intelligence, and Engineering.  

The role of a technical sales executive is to help promote and sell Engineering Innovation Factory (EIF) offerings by demonstrating the advanced technical functions of each offering and its uses and benefits to SAICs internal capture teams and programs

Engineering Sales is focused on providing technical advice and support to internal capture and program teams by conducting technical analysis of customer needs and requirements to determine tailored EIF offering approach and pricing including: Preparing and conducting technical sales briefings for customer and company representatives. Researching customer technical specifications and cost estimation, resources, time, and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing the EIF solution. Evaluating sales proposals to ensure they are technically accurate and consistent with the organization's quality standards.  In addition:

Proposal Activities

•Responds to requests from Lead Solution Architect to provide offering-specific information for proposal Technical Solution – including custom content as needed to describe the offering in the proposal 
•Responds to requests from Cost Estimators for tailored, offering-specific pricing and delivery data need for BOE / BOM development that is not available in the commercial marketplace
•Responds to requests from PP Book Boss for information on offering historical performance

Sales Activities

•Responds to Lead Solution Architect requests for offering-specific information needed to develop the Technical Solution and related capture artifacts
•Responds to PM / CM requests for offering-specific information and provides input for customer engagement / call plans; conducts offering-specific technical discussions, presentations and demonstrations for industry and customers as requested

Post-Award Activities

•Coordinate integration support and program training, and then departs

General

•Researches competitor capabilities comparable to the SAIC offering, and provides written assessments to IFT / Sector
•Responds to requests from Marketing to provide offering-specific inputs for development of marketing collateral, advertising, etc.
•Responds to requests from Sector Line and BD to provide offering-specific inputs in support of sector 5/3/1, AOP, strategy and campaign plan development
•Responds to requests from Sector Line and BD to provide offering-specific demonstrations and presentations to support sector marketing, program growth and general BD activities
•Coordinates with PMs to upsell and ensure renewals

Qualifications

Required Educations/Skills

Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience in a technical sales role. Successful candidate has a technical background to acquire a strong understanding of the capability and application of one or more specific offerings. Superior communication skills, with ability to present and demonstrate offerings as part of client engagement pre-sales and sales.  Ability to quickly absorb and elicit information on customer needs, interact with customers in real-time and influence their understanding of SAIC offerings. Superior writing skills, to tailor offering-specific marketing content for use in white papers, RFI responses, etc. Applicant must demonstrate high energy, initiative and commitment.

Duties

  • Provides offering-specific information to/for:
    • Development of marketing collateral, advertising, etc.
    • Support strategy and campaign plan development
    • Develop the technical solution and related capture artifacts
    • Customer engagement / call plans; conducts offering-specific technical discussions, presentations and demonstrations for industry and customers as requested
    • Proposal technical solution – including custom content as needed to describe the offering in the proposal 
    • Pricing and delivery data needed for BOE / BOM development
    • Historical performance
  • Coordinates with PMs to upsell and ensure renewals
  • Delivers integration support and program training

 



Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
