Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Wargame Planner  to join our team in support of work taking place at the USINDOPACOM and the K. Mark Takai Pacific Warfighting Center on Oahu, Hawaii. The successful candidate provides subject matter expertise (SME) and operational support in wargaming, wargaming analysis, joint simulations, scenarios, and issue identification/coordination/resolution. 

Job Description:

  • Builds JPG products, wargaming products and works well with others to accomplish wargaming objectives; Shares best practices, expertise and SOPs, and builds a team environment to enable the organization and team to resolve challenges, conflicts, and problems; Leads efforts and is a positive force within the J32 and wargame JPG environment.
  • Forms working groups and teams during JPG activities (planning and execution), facilitates stakeholder discussions, joint simulation requirements, and provides insight and updates to leadership to drive solutions, timelines, and project/event success.
  • Engaging stakeholders, planners, and SMEs weekly to drive wargaming analysis capabilities and HQs Wargame JPG objectives; Professional, addresses questions, problems, and issues promptly while keeping the team and leadership informed of the situation and any insights learned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree and (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and zero (0) years related experience; (4) years of equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Analytical Event (Wargaming, Tabletop Exercises, and Experimentation planning, coordination, design and analysis experience.
  • Experience in organizing and executing large, complex events
  • Ability to quickly adapt plans as circumstances require
  • Prior experience supporting a Joint command 
  • Experience authoring reports, policy, or proposals
  • Strong customer relations expertise and excellent written and verbal communication skills sufficient to comfortably and effectively present at a senior leadership (business and military) level.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. 

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarization with current USINDOPACOM AOR challenges
  • Experience with research or workforce analysis
