SAIC has an immediate need for a Senior Software Engineer to support Modeling and Simulation Enterprise Applications’ (MSEA) Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) in California, Maryland (Holly III).    

Job Description:

• This position will require the performance of coding enhancements to a NAVAIR flight simulator application. The NGTS suite of applications delivers high fidelity flight simulators to the US warfighter as well as international customers.  This position requires extensive experience with C++, the programming language used to create the NAVAIR flight simulator. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coding C++ applications and be willing to communicate progress on tasking weekly stand ups.

Qualifications

Required Education:

• BS and five (5) years of experience; four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:

• Demonstrate a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns, and object oriented software design
• Evaluate and review using C++ programming language code
• Develop Parallel processes, threading, process communication
• Develop Web-based applications using development technology
• Collaborate with team members to design future enhancements

Required Clearance:

• Candidate must be able to obtain an interim Secret clearance prior to start date and obtain a Secret clearance once on board

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with time-series analysis
• Familiarity with aviation related maintenance
• Experience/interest in Python and HTML
• Experience with flight simulators
• Experience using Atlassian collaboration tools (Bitbucket, Jira and Confluence)
• Experience with OpenSceneGraph (OpenGL rendering)
• Experience with developing user interfaces
