SAIC has an immediate need for a DevOps Engineer (Development Operations Engineer) to support the MLRS Program located in Huntsville, Alabama.

NOTE:  This is a 100% remote opportunity

Job Description: 

The candidate will be responsible to manage and improve the communication between the operational and developmental sides of our software development process. The main duties include launching product updates, locating production errors and issues and building integrations to improve the users’ experience.

The DEVOPS role balances several roles to include the development process, including computer coding, testing and deployment. The selected candidate must also possess the communication and time management skills needed to support multiple project teams continually e.g.,

• Guide teams in designing, building, testing and deploying changes to existing software
• Enhance the company’s IT infrastructure security protocols
• Identify manual processes that can be automated
• Consider the organization’s entire IT infrastructure and agile processes when making changes and improvements

Qualifications

Required Education:

• Bachelors and nine (9) years of experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:

• Experience with modern CI/CD platforms
• Experience configuring agile lifecycle management tools
• Source control deployment and management knowledge, especially Git
• Understanding of agile practices
• Scripting language abilities e.g., bash, python
• Comfortable developing in Windows and Linux environments

Required Clearance:

• Must have an active Secret Security Clearance 

Desired Skills:

• Experience generating metrics about team performance (cumulative flow diagrams, Gantt, etc)
• Jira or Azure DevOps experience

Target salary range: $115,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
