Description
SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer in our King George/Dahlgren VA office in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren on programs to include Nulka, the Soft Kill Coordination System (SKCS), and Combat Systems Test Bed (CSTB). This role does allow for some telework options.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Software Engineering and development evolutions in support of Electronic Warfare (EW) Softkill Coordination Subsystem (SKCS) to develop a Combat System Test Bed (CSTB).
- Will provide software development support in an Agile/Sprint environment; Perform software coding, build upgrades and unit testing of SKCS software rehosted within CSTB.
- Will rehost SKCS tactical code into CSTB; Perform integration testing, generate test reports, metrics and/or performance analysis.
- Will develop code (i.e. C++, Unix/Linux environment) for real-time tactical applications. Some efforts develop software within an Agile/Sprint environment.
- Will provide daily status highlights; participate in Agile ceremonies to include daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and ad-hoc meetings as required, address action items as assigned; provide status and recommendations on issues under scope of work.
- Will develop and maintain Software Development Plan (SDP) and associated documentation.
- Will communicate design assessments, implementations, test results, and product functionality to program sponsors and senior technical staff
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- BS degree or higher from an accredited university in engineering, computer/software engineering, computer science or other technical competency and 5 years or more experience. Operational military experience in the systems mentioned below may be substituted for a degree.
- Five years of experience of software design, development and engineering.

Demonstrated experience coding in C++ in a Unix/Linux environment.

Demonstrated experience developing software for Run-Time Infrastructure High Level Architecture (RTI-HLA) middleware implementations (e.g., RTI NG, MAK RTI, pRTI, CERTI, IEEE 1516).
- Must be able to obtain an interim Secret clearance prior to start date and Secret clearance once on board
Desired Skills:
- Experience with RTI-DDS concepts
- Understanding of Combat Systems Interfaces including Product Line Architecture (PLA) concepts.
