The KHILS facility includes Electro-Optical, Infrared, and Radiofrequency (EO/IR/RF) target simulators, vacuum chamber testing environments, shielded RF anechoic chambers, and real-time computation systems available to accomplish HWIL testing of advanced EO, IR, and RF weapons systems, subsystems and integrated concepts.

The applicant may also serve as technical lead for selected task orders as they are issued under various contracts. These duties include technical leadership and oversight for all task order participants, and responsibility for the development and delivery of the task order documentation (status reports, briefings, and a task closeout final report).

The applicant must have 15 or more years’ experience in the design, and integration of HWIL simulations as applicable to weapon systems and subsystems.

This applicant’s experience must include, but is not limited to:

  • The design and deployment of simulation architectures
  • Modeling of weapon systems, subsystems and the environments they operate in
  • Object-oriented software design
  • Hardware/software integration
  • Hardware interfaces (e.g., ethernet, serial, etc.)

The applicant must have 5 or more years’ experience functioning as project lead for one or more successful technical activities. These lead responsibilities should include technical oversight of other personnel involved in the project and the accomplishment of formal project documentation.

  • 5 or more years team leadership experience
  • 15 or more years’ experience working with real-time HWIL simulations
  • Technical BS degree in engineering or physics. (In lieu of a BS degree, 20 years or more applicable experience in the specific areas outlined above will qualify)
  • Must qualify for a U.S. government SECRET security clearance (existing SECRET security clearance preferred).
  • Software applications experience required: C++, Python, Windows, Linux, GUI design, 2D and 3D modeling
